Since its introduction in 2023, XTR2 has received several updates that have introduced new features and performance improvements.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving and streamlining the user experience, we’re introducing an update to the TES3 smoke cartridge replacement process.

 

Simplified Cartridge Replacement

Effective September 2026, cartridge registration will no longer be required after replacing a TES3 smoke cartridge.

Removing this step makes routine cartridge replacement faster and more efficient, helping users minimize downtime and get back to testing sooner.

Once available, the update will be delivered automatically over the air (OTA). Registered users will be notified of available updates via email and through the app. Please note that the app must be connected to XTR2 for the update notification to appear.

In addition, details of all updates will be posted on the blog and support sections of our website.

Smoke Purge

The smoke purge function has been enhanced to improve reliability following extended periods of inactivity.

This update introduces the same pump conditioning process used during priming, rotating the pump impeller clockwise and counterclockwise to flex the generator tubing and release any areas that may have become pinched or stuck together over time.

This conditioning cycle does not deliver additional smoke fluid. However, fluid delivery can be added during purge profile initialization if required.

As a result of this enhancement, the overall purge duration has been extended by approximately 10 seconds, helping ensure more consistent smoke generation and overall system performance.

 

DT Connect Trial Period

New XTR2 purchases include a free DT Connect trial, providing access to reporting functionality through the DT Connect app and web portal.

Following a review of customer adoption and usage trends during the trial period, the DT Connect trial will be reduced from 90 days to 30 days.

This change more closely aligns the trial offering with actual customer purchasing behavior while continuing to provide new users with sufficient time to explore the platform’s features and benefits.

The change will also apply to XTR Pulse users and will take effect beginning in September 2026.

Growing the DT Connect Community

There are now more than 5,700 registered DT Connect users, with test reports created for more than 15,000 unique sites.
