SDi Fire

SDi Fire team at NFPA Conference and Expo showcasing fire protection and testing solutions
SDi Fire unveiled XTR AXIS at the 2026 NFPA Conference & Expo, introducing a faster, smarter approach to detector sensitivity testing. See what made this launch one of the highlights of the show.

The 2026 NFPA Conference & Expo was an exciting week for SDi as we officially introduced XTR AXIS, the newest addition to the XTR Series and a major advancement in detector sensitivity testing.

Throughout the show, industry professionals stopped by our booth to experience XTR AXIS firsthand and see how it is changing the way sensitivity testing is performed. Live demonstrations ran every day, giving attendees the opportunity to get hands-on with the new tester, ask questions, and see its innovative features in action.

Built Around the Challenges Technicians Face

Every feature of XTR AXIS was developed with one goal in mind: making sensitivity testing faster, easier, and more practical in the field.

The lightweight tester weighs just 4 lbs, reducing fatigue during long inspection days, while its flexible test cup makes it easy to test wall-mounted detectors that can be difficult to access with traditional equipment. Sensitivity tests can be completed in approximately three minutes, helping technicians spend less time on each detector and more time completing inspections.

XTR AXIS also simplifies reporting by automatically capturing test results through DT Connect™, eliminating manual documentation and improving traceability from the field to the final inspection report.

Another challenge technicians often face is working with pressurized aerosol cans. XTR AXIS replaces aerosols with replaceable smoke capsules that deliver a precise, automated burst of smoke every time. The capsules are non-hazardous and non-flammable, making them easier to transport, ship, and store while reducing wasted smoke during testing.

A Milestone for Noventis Safety

This year’s conference also marked the first time SDi Fire exhibited alongside The Hose Monster Company and Global Vision Inc. (GVI) in a shared Noventis Safety exhibit. The booth brought together fire detection and fire suppression testing solutions in one space, giving attendees the opportunity to see how the Noventis Safety family supports different aspects of fire protection testing.

As proud NFPA Conference Sponsors, SDi Fire was also excited to see XTR AXIS™ featured on one of the large digital video walls throughout Mandalay Bay, introducing the new tester to thousands of conference attendees.

The week was filled with great conversations, hands-on demonstrations, and the opportunity to reconnect with customers and partners from across the industry. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and helped make the launch of XTR AXIS such a success. We look forward to seeing you next year at the 2027 NFPA Conference & Expo in San Antonio.
