Founded in 1926, NEMA is the largest trade association representing electrical equipment manufacturers in the United States. The organization plays a vital role in developing industry standards, advocating for manufacturers, promoting safety and innovation, and helping shape the regulatory and technical landscape that impacts electrical and life safety products across North America.

Section BES SB brings together leading manufacturers of fire detection, life safety, security, and emergency communication equipment to address industry challenges, support the development of standards, and advance technologies that help protect lives and property. Through collaboration with manufacturers, standards organizations, code bodies, and industry stakeholders, the section helps influence the future direction of fire and life safety technologies.

As 1st Vice Chair, Rick will help provide leadership and strategic direction for the section while working alongside industry experts to support initiatives that advance safety, reliability, and innovation throughout the fire and life safety industry.

Rick’s election reflects his longstanding commitment to codes, standards, and industry advancement, as well as the respect he has earned among his peers.
