SDi Attends the Sacramento Area Alarm Association Fire Forum

Last week, SDi’s Southwest Business Development Manager, Ed Fuentes, attended the Sacramento Area Alarm Association Fire Forum. This event brought together a wide array of professionals committed to advancing fire prevention and safety, including fire marshals, inspectors, school districts, dealers, ESDs, and vendors. The forum provided a rich environment for discussing the critical themes of communication and innovation within the fire safety sector.

SDi was thrilled to showcase Testifire XTR2, our new connected tester for smoke and heat detector testing during the event. The Testifire XTR2 represents a significant advancement in fire detection technology, offering enhanced reporting features and improved accuracy for fire system testing. During the forum, we demonstrated its capabilities and effectiveness, receiving positive feedback from industry peers and professionals.

The forum focused on the importance of effective communication among organizations and how innovations in fire systems are influencing current codes and standards. Presentations by the local Fire Marshal and a fire inspector emphasized the significance of maintaining strong internal and external communication channels. They illustrated how these channels facilitate better coordination within departments and enhance outreach to the community, ultimately contributing to more robust fire safety measures and compliance.

One of the key takeaways from these presentations was the importance of establishing and nurturing strong relationships between Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and local fire vendors and contractors. AHJs depend on these organizations for their expertise in fire life safety systems. Their support is vital in ensuring that buildings adhere to code standards and are well-prepared for fire emergencies. For SDi, this underscores the value of building collaborative partnerships with AHJs to better support property owners and ensure adherence to evolving fire safety regulations. In addition to the informative presentations, the forum offered ample opportunities for networking.

SDi was thrilled to reconnect with our esteemed customers and vendors while also establishing new connections within the fire safety community. The event provided invaluable networking opportunities, and we eagerly anticipate future engagements hosted by the Sacramento Area Alarm Association.
