SDi had participated at quite a few trade shows during the dates of April 18th through April 20th, with events occurring in both the United States and Mexico. 

Each year, SDi attends Expo Seguridad which is held each year at Citibanamex in Mexico City. Expo Seguridad is the biggest security industry event in Latin America with over 13,000 visitors in attendance during the three-day conference. SDi’s booth was represented by Rick Heffernan, President, and our team at International W. The show floor was extremely busy, and our booth was booming with product demos for the majority of the show. With environmental issues and cost savings on many customers’ minds, Testifire and Solo 365 took center stage at the SDi booth. Our booth was set up with smoke detectors installed on a ceiling so that those who stopped by could demo the equipment with a Solo Telescopic Access Pole. In addition to the Testifire and Solo 365, other products on display at the booth included Cell Checker, Solo 460, and Solo 200.

Over in the United States, SDi’s Regional Business Development Managers exhibited at local Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA) conferences. Both the ILAFAA Symposium and AFAANJ/NJSFPE Symposium were held on April 20th. Andrea Barghini, SDi Midwest Business Development Manager exhibited at the ILAFAA Symposium in Addison, IL. Andrea is currently on the ILAFAA Executive Board of Directors. The event featured an exhibit hall and training on topics such as Project Management in Life Safety, Changes to Erces/BDA to NFPA 1225, Significant changes to NFPA 72 – 2025 Edition and Remote/iCloud Technology and the Benefits for Life Safety. There were twelve vendors and over 100 attendees in attendance, including representatives from the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshalls. Not only were the Solo 365 and Testifire once again popular, but Scorpion was also a product of interest during this show, as it allows for easy and safe testing of both ASD systems and hard-to-access point detectors.

In East Hanover, NJ, Pat Ryan, SDi Northeast Business Development Manager attended the AFAANJ/NJSFPE Symposium. Pat is very involved with AFAANJ and holds the position of Membership Director. The show had a great turnout with approximately 30 vendors and 250 attendees. Fire Chief Lou Kilmer of NJ was the special guest speaker and provided great insight into the current NJ code and where it is headed. The Testifire is always a big hit at trade shows in the tri-state area due to CO testing requirements in the states of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
