SDi Participates in Trade Shows Organized by Local Chapters of the Automatic Fire Alarm Association

On April 9th, SDi participated in two trade shows organized by local chapters of the Automatic Fire Alarm Association. The presence of Testifire XTR2 was notable at both exhibitions, as our new trade show setup highlighted the enhanced connectivity features of the product. Along with the tester itself, the DetectorTesters Connect app and reporting portal were demonstrated, giving attendees a comprehensive test and reporting experience. Following its debut at NFPA in June, Testifire XTR2 has generated significant interest, and the fire industry eagerly awaits its release in just a few months.

The ILAFAA held its annual Fire Alarm Code & Technology Summit in Addison, IL. The conference showcased exhibitors and courses covering the 2025 national fire alarm code, state fire marshal update, ERCES testing and equipment needs, smoke detection in unique environments, fire alarm plan review process, and updates on enforcement items. Andrea Barghini, SDi’s Eastern Senior Business Development Manager and President of ILAFAA, represented SDi at the event. The show provided great networking opportunities, insightful speakers, and valuable course topics. SDi is proud to support ILAFAA and looks forward to participating in the show again in 2025.

Over in East Hanover, New Jersey, Pat Ryan, National Account Manager and TJ Haluska, Northeast Business Development Manager attended the 13th Annual Symposium and Tradeshow hosted by the SFPENJ and AFAANJ This event provided a comprehensive learning experience through expert presentations and interactions with industry exhibitors. The symposium offered 6 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and featured a remarkable course by John Drucker, focusing on various aspects such as the latest developments in NJ, codes and standards, electronic plan review and permitting, shop drawings, and effective utilization of online resources. The additional programs at the event covered a wide range of topics related to fire alarm systems and safety. These topics included considerations for designing fire protection systems in historical buildings, the latest advancements in ERCES (Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems), the applications of air aspiration detection, standards for hanging and bracing fire protection systems, and gaining a deeper understanding of fire and its design implications. SDi is proud to support both associations, with Pat Ryan currently serving as the Membership Director for AFAANJ. During the event, SDi participated in a door prize raffle, offering an exciting gift card valued at $500. The SFPENJ/AFAANJ Symposium is always a highly anticipated full-day event, and we eagerly await next year’s symposium and trade show.
