On November 3^rd, 2022, Pat Ryan, Northeast Business Development Manager, attended the American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians’ (ASCET) 58^th Annual Conference & Expo. The conference was held in historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and featured a full day of training sessions and exhibits. SDi was proud to attend ASCET’s Conference as we currently support ASCET as a Sustaining Corporate Sponsor. Overall, the conference was great and well-attended. Pat had an opportunity to speak with some students from Lincoln Tech in north NJ about SDi’s test & inspection equipment for the fire and life safety industries. While speaking with the students, Pat introduced SDi’s line of intelligent testers – the Testifire and Solo 365 – and spoke to them about how technology in the fire alarm industry is driving test and inspection toward intelligent testing. It is also a cleaner form of testing and better for the environment. The students were very interested in seeing the new generation of smoke detector testing and how smoke is automatically generated with a proximity sensor once the smoke detector enters the test cup. SDi is looking forward to our continued support with ASCET!

Following ASCET’s Annual Conference, Andrea Barghini, Midwest Business Development Manager, attended the Northern Illinois Fire Inspectors Association’s (NIFIA) 2^nd Annual Fire Prevention Symposium at Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, IL. The NIFIA Symposium was a two-day conference that included exhibits and a selection of excellent training courses for conference attendees. With an attendance of nearly 80 attendees in the fire service field, the show was a great conference with good traffic flow. Additionally, it was a great opportunity to once again showcase the Testifire Muticriteria Detector Tester and Solo 365 Electronic Smoke Detector Tester. SDi is looking forward to attending again in 2023!
